Organizing 101
Organizing 101

The Inland Communities Organizing Network (ICON), an affiliate of the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF) is offering, at no cost, training on the principles and practices of broad-based organizing. Like community organizing, IAF’s broadbased organizing enables congregations and other people-focused institutions to work for significant and systemic change in the public arena of their communities and region. But broad-based organizing also uses its principles to strengthen its member organizations.

The purpose of this training event is to build the capacity, ability and willingness of institutions to use these basic organizing principles both
to strengthen their own organization and to work with other institutions of ICON to raise the power of the people in public life. Teaching these training events will be Ernesto Cortes, Jr.

Description: IAF Regional Manager and legendary organizing trainer Ernesto Cortes is coming to lead us in another organizing training. Whether you think organizing is about shelves or a word you’re sick of hearing, come find out who is interested and interesting and form those important public relationships for organizational power in the inland communities and beyond!

Wed, April 30, 7:00pm – 8:30pm
Where:  Claremont Presbyterian Church,
